Ubuntu 12.10 named Quantal Quetzal

The next release of Ubuntu set for release later this year, will be named Quantal Quetzal.

Mark Shuttlesworth’s reasoning behind it, is below.

“Quality comes from focus and clarity of purpose, it comes from careful design and rigorous practices.
Q will be all about style on the client, with a refresh of our theme and typography, a start on new iconography and perhaps even a new form factor taking flight.”

So we can all finally look forward to seeing the horrible icon set that has been with us since Lucid Lynx disappear. We can also look forward too the default theme getting a little modernization and possibly a few “new” features as well.

For those of you who don’t know what a Quetzal looks like, see below.

Because when he reached Q, he wished he’d never started the weird naming convention … and Quantal Quetzal was all he could think of … the rest of his quote is just a load of B-Sh*t he made up to try make it look like there’s some reasoning going into the names ::slight_smile:

Haha, oh someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

I was hoping for something like Quack Quack, or Quite Quail. I wonder what happens when we get to Z. Do we go to parentheses?

Start again with fruit ? … “Almost Apple” maybe
