Unable to access outlook email in Firefox 57 (SOLVED!)

Hi Folks, as the title says - have removed all two add-ons, and cleared the cache as recommended on both the ubuntu, M$, and Mozilla forums, and yet it still no worky :o

I’m drugged up on Tramadol at the mo, so any help much appreciated

Thanks

So what happens when you try ?

Thanks for the reply

FF says:-

"Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at outlook.live.com.
If that address is correct, here are three other things you can try:

Try again later.
Check your network connection.
If you are connected but behind a firewall, check that Firefox has permission to access the Web."

Perceived wisdom on the web, from a search, seems to be that this is a common issue, and a few folk have cured the problem by clearing their cache, and disabling / removing add-ons - which I tried with no success :frowning:

Try clicking this link and tell me what happens

That works ! = how very strange :o

Having hovered over the “stored” top sites icon in the new tab screen on FF - it has a great load of guff after the link you gave ::slight_smile: - which pesumably is corrupt in some way ??

Thanks very much for your help, once again

No problem

 - marked as solved - thanks again.

If I had to guess, I’d say that “guff” is a session ID from an old session which is now expired … using just the shortened URL (with no session ID) forces the outlook.live.com server to create a new session for this connection.
