Wheres my workspaces?

I notice I have only two workspaces showing up in the right lower corner of my desktop…
On my wife’s laptop, there’s 4, why the difference? Is there anything I need to ‘tweak’?

Which desktop environment would be handy

I’m presuming 11.10 Gnome 3 (Classic) ?

I would have guessed which by my description of the location! the other one has them pop out from the right hand side.
Yes, I believe it IS Gnome (Classic)

Right-click the Workspace Switcher (on the bottom panel) … Select Preferences … and change:

Number of workspaces: 4

Click Close.

How am I supposed to know which PC you are talking about, and which distro/desktop … unless you tell me.

And before you say it - I know there’s info in your signature, but you may have been talking about a different PC altogether, or have installed the LXDE, or Xfce, etc. desktop in Ubuntu for all I knew … there are MANY desktop environments in Linux :stuck_out_tongue:

But… You’re a GOD aren’t you… YOU control the OS 8) YOU know EVERYTHING ;D

Heh  … I wish.

Ta for the help

Do you remember what, I think it was BKS said to you in one of the threads I started, he said ‘You control the OS’ and that ‘it classes you as a GOD’ 8)

I said that (quoting from elsewhere) … BkS called it something like “quote of the month” (IIRC).

Here’s another I like to use … “Linux doesn’t need you, you need Linux:slight_smile:

Sorry  I knew ONE of you said it

Good quotes

And here’s another -

DON’T PANIC” (always uppercase) in large, friendly letters…

Oh … sorry … that was Douglas Adams
