There are a number of ways to clone/backup drives and/or partitions in Linux… some don’t require additional software, such as the dd command.
or you could just tar the whole system and restore it from the archive(s), then just reinstall the GRUB bootloader from a LiveCD.
But your best bet, for a GUI based solution would be to download the Parted Magic LiveCD ISO image, burn it to disk, boot to it, and use Clonezilla (included) to backup your partitions or whole drives.
