Hello Ted - and welcome to the Forum.
I am no expert on these things and our resident expert might be a bit slow in replying, due to family Xmas, etc.
It would be helpful if you could post some details about your system, such as:
- machine type, memory, etc.
- how you installed Mint
- from where did you obtain the ISO file?
- have you installed it as the only OS on the computer or installed alongside Windows?
The more information, the better.
If installed as the only OS, it should boot straight into the Graphical User Interface and you shouldn’t see the bootloader.
Please post the info and someone will get back to you.
Keith
Hey Ted,
When you say “I’m in the Grub boot loader”, typically it displays a menu offering different options. One of these will be the default, another will be a “rescue” type option or previous version or “safe” version. Have you tried one of the non-default options? (typically non-default options work in “verbose” mode and often give you an idea of where they “stop”, thus giving an indication of the problem)
If the boot-loader just says “Grub>”, then typically your boot-loader is broker and it’s not likely to do much for you …
