Can anyone cure this display issue in google chrome.
Twas ok this morning, then there was an update and now this.
Running PM3 if it’s of any consequence.

As always, any help gratefully appreciated

Which version of Chrome is that ?
forgot that sorry.
35.0.1916.114
Try this.
In Chrome, go to:
chrome://settings
Scroll to the bottom and click “Advanced Settings”
Make sure
Use hardware acceleration when available
is ticked
close ALL instances of Chrome
Now open a terminal and run Chrome with:
google-chrome --ignore-gpu-blacklist
If that fixes the colours … we’ll edit chromium to add that flag.
Didn’t fix it but did get plenty of errors in the terminal but can only post the tail end as the rest is off the top of the window and can’t scroll up to get it

Try taking the tick OUT of
Use hardware acceleration when available
then restart Chrome in the normal way … or was it already unticked ?
[EDIT]
Do you get those same errros if you start Chrome from the command line WITHOUT the extra flag:
google-chrome
?
The tick was in place.
With the tick in place and without the flag I get this
ATTENTION: default value of option force_s3tc_enable overridden by environment.
[15897:15897:0524/220134:ERROR:component_loader.cc(138)] Failed to parse extension manifest.

[15897:16000:0524/220138:ERROR:get_updates_processor.cc(214)] PostClientToServerMessage() failed during GetUpdates
And unticking the box made no difference
You could always uninstall google-chrome-stable … and either try either google-chrome-beta or google-chrome-unstable
Those are Chrome 36 and Chrome 37 respectively
or you could just reinstall one of the Chrome 34 (or earlier) series from here:
http://mirror.pcbeta.com/google/chrome/deb/pool/main/g/google-chrome-stable/
direct links
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you Mark.
Uninstalled 35 and installed 34.0.1847.137-1 and all is good with the world(wide web) again.
Thanx
Chrome 35 uses the new “aura” graphics stack … an “in-house” graphics stack from Google … there are obviously some bugs still to be ironed out :o
If you’d like to try fixing Chrome 35 let us know what graphics adapter / driver you’re using … post the output from:
sudo lshw -C display
