Our Platform Security group is looking for talented individuals to join its Cyber Security Software engineering team. You’ll be working alongside world class security engineers and tasked with ensuring that the government systems we develop stay safe from some of the most hostile and advanced attackers in the world.
The Cyber Security Software Engineering team works with other groups across the organisation, identifying weaknesses in existing products and ensuring new products are secure. This team primarily works at the Operating System level, enhancing the security of the platform to defend against the unique threats we face. If successful you will join one of our dedicated teams dealing with Embedded, Mobile or Desktop security; which work closely together to share experiences and best practice.
The role is wide ranging involving close working with other teams, evangelising of software security, security code inspection,vulnerability analysis,research into new mitigations and development of techniques and tools. You will need to be keen to drive your own professional development and will be supported by training, opportunities for self-learning and have the opportunity to attend conferences.
To join this team you’ll need to be a highly motivated individual, have an inquiring mind and a strong desire to learn new technologies.
To be considered for this position candidates will need:
- Solid testing, debugging and coding skills in C/C++
- The ability to read and understand assembly code
- Knowledge of operating system internals in at least one of; Windows,Linux, Mac OSX,QNX, VxWorks, ThreadX
- An understanding of common security vulnerabilities and defensive techniques
- Knowledge of common security tools with the ability to develop bespoke vulnerability detection tools and ad-ons;such as fuzzers
- A passion for computer security
- Be highly motivated and keen to learn
