I believe there is a lot of software out there that works natively on Linux to capture the desktop, only thing is I’m unsure of what’s compatible and what’s actually out there? I’m lookin’ for something with relatively easy controls but something that will capture my desktop in at least 720p. If I can’t get that then 480p?
If you mean, capturing VIDEO of your desktop…
Try gtk-recordmydesktop … it’s in the repos.
sudo apt-get install gtk-recordmydesktop
Once installed, you’ll find it in the application lens as Desktop Recorder
