Doesn’t look that way … their website says:-
Supported operating systems
Windows Vista
Windows XP
Windows 7
not even a Mac version :
It’s also listed as “Garbage” in the WINE application database … so don’t expect to get it running in WINE either.
[EDIT]
The latest version is listed as “Bronze” in the WINE application database:
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=21513
But that still means it won’t function well …
What works Install, creating a room, 2D and 3D views. What does not
Adding luminaires to a room, lighting calculation. Microsoft JET4.0 fails to install. What was not tested
Opening previously created .dlx file.
On the dial forum one piece says they have it on there wish list for future versions but that was in 2009.
Yeh, I spotted that … their “wish list” obviously doesn’t tally with their “todo list”
This any good (bearing in mind I have no idea what DIALux is):

Sweet Home 3D should be in your repos (if you’re interested):
sudo apt-get install sweethome3d
though their website probably has a more recent version … currently 3.5 on the website.
or see here for a PPA (11.10 and 12.04) that has version 3.5:
http://www.upubuntu.com/2012/05/sweet-home-3d-updated-to-version-35.html
PPA (11.10 and 12.04) here:
https://launchpad.net/~upubuntu-com/+archive/graphics
It’s not the lighting design but I like it any way. it is easy to use and creates good 3D plans.
I have installed the V3.4 from the command you posted. Then I did the 3 commands on the site you linked to. the last one came up with an error. Should that have updated it to 3.5 because it has not.
Sorry but the second like you posted I look at and it means nothing to me.

If 12.04 has 3.4 in the repos, I’d just stick with that … but if you REALLY want 3.5, let me know.
I will play with 3.4 for now.
But just as a general thing if it dose not install properly the first time is it ok to just rerun the command to install what ever program it may be?
You can try I suppose … if it errors again … the EXACT error message would be useful
Really the only reason I included the 3.5 PPA was because Peppermint only has version 2.1 in it’s repos … I’d stick with what’s in the default repos if 12.04 is at 3.4 … but up to you
Did you get 3.5 working?
If you mean Sweethome 3D … yes, at least in PeppermintOS Three 32bit (which is based on Ubuntu 12.04).
Just add the PPA and install:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:upubuntu-com/graphics
then
sudo apt-get update
then
sudo apt-get install sweethome-3d
