Trying to install a Canon printer is driving me up the wall. I tried the instructions but no joy . So I want to buy a fully compatible HP printer that I can install without a load of hassle so that I can live a peaceful life. I saw somewhere on the forum mention of a double sided recommended HP printer, but I don’t remember what it was. What was it and is it really hassle free ?
Most HP printers will work out of the box, but if you want to be 100% sure …
check which version of hplip you have:
dpkg -l | grep hplip
should tell you.
Then before buying go here:
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/supported_devices/index.html
enter the printer model you’re thinking of … and check the minimum hplip version that’s necessary for it.
