My client is one of the worlds largest telecoms companies looking to recruit eight contractors on long-term contracts. These are genuine requirements and can move quickly or wait 4/6 weeks for notice periods to be completed. Rate at competitive and will pay between £320-£350 a day. You will be responsible for working on platform for home mobile coverage, you will be responsible providing backbone s/w for the application. You will be involved in all the aspects of the software development life cycle including design, architecture, development, testing, support and maintenance. You will play a major role in the development of brand new products based on C and C++ code on a customised Linux Kernel.
Qualifications
- Education to Degree Level ideally Computer Science or similar subject
- Proven track record in software development.

Essential Technical skills

Real-time embedded C/C++ development

Embedded Linux development experience on ARM or other equivalent RISC processor family

Expertise in one or more of the following:
- uBoot (or similar boot-loader) - Linux OS kernel 2.6.x development - Linux OS device drivers (SPI, I2C, GPIO, EMAC, DMA controllers) -
Proven integration/debugging and testing skills
