External and Internal HDD Access...

Am running a 1TB external HDD on Ubuntu 12.04.

Internal Sata drive is 250 GB running Lubuntu 12.04

The comp is an old Dell machine I built from scrap.

Machine running very well.

Can I access the internal HDD while booted from the external HDD to transfer/copy files ect.

Grateful for any help.

Jocklad

Yes … is it not being displayed in the left hand column of your file manager ?

The only way I can see to show the 250GB is if I go to Dash Home and open Disk Utility.

What’s the output from:

sudo fdisk -l

and

sudo blkid

and

mount

[EDIT]

In Disk Utillity … is there an option to mount the partitions on the 250GB drive ?

Can only see an option to mount volume

Yeah, in Disk Utility highlight the partition on the 250GB drive (sda1), then click “Mount Volume”

Now see if it’s available in the left column of your file manager.

Got it.

Its now showing in the Launcher.

Many thanks for your help.
