ClipGrab.
Now you don’t need to search for online site/applications that require java etc. to work properly. ClipGrab is a free software to download and convert videos from different famous sites of Internet. You can easily save your favorite videos from sites like Dailymotion, Youtube or Vimeo. You can check complete list of supported websites by this software. There is an official ppa available but It does not have packages for Ubuntu 15.04 (vivid vervet) and Ubuntu 14.10 (Utopic Unicorn). So for Vivid Vervet and Utopic Unicorn there is noobslab ppa available that has packages for all.
