Installing Lexmark Z1480 Printer

Hi Guys

I bought a Lexmark Z1480 WIFI printer at a boot sale but I’m having problems installing it, firstly in doesn’t seem to connect to the network so I’m trying to install it by USB I’m running Peppermint 4 and it recognised the printer but offers the 1020 business printer I checked in the list under Lexmark and the Z1480 isnt listed so I carried on and installed the 1020 driver but as you might have guessed doesn’t print when I try to print a test print it says “sending data to printer” but nothing happens

I checked on Lexmarks website and it offers a linux driver but when I downloaded it it’s actually a mac driver

Any help anyone can give me would be much appreciated

I used to have a Lexmark, never got it to work with Linux (Ubuntu 12.04), in the end got rid and got a HP, no trouble with that. Think you will be lucky to get the thing to work, but good luck

It was an impulsive purchase and I kinda thought this was gonna be a problem but I only paid £3 for it so It’s no big deal if I can’t get it to work

All you have to do is install libstdc++5 and then install the z600 driver:

Note: some people say you have to install getlibs, but I would recommend that you try it without first

Once you have done that choose the z600 driver after setting it up as a networked printer.

I have attached a screenshot showing the printer in my network and the ink level being low; just so you know that it works.
