So you all sorted now, or do you wanna make some tweaks ?
Ahh … you have 2 Peppermint 4 entries ?
if so, make sure both work, then use EasyBCD to remove on of them.
If you want/need help … just ask
I’d like to make a few tweaks if that’s ok, but we can do it tomorrow
(1) if possible get rid of the extra Peppermint entry on the Windows Boot menu
(2) make Peppermint default
(3) I don’t need the grub menu to show up when I boot into Peppermint is it possible to hide that ?
Sure (to all of em)
OK, till tomorrow then … make sure BOTH the Peppermint 4 entries work, then we’ll get rid of one tomorrow.
Ok thank you so much for your help Mark
See you tomorrow then
BTW just shut down Windows and guess what.
You probably guessed right another 4 updates
Goodnight
You’re lucky … I started Windows on a dual booter to check the easyBCD settings, and I now have 20 updates :
Ok I managed the first 2 tweaks myself it’s pretty self explanatory really but I’m not sure about the 3rd
Boot Peppermint 4
Run:
sudo gedit /etc/default/grub
Find the line that reads:-
GRUB_TIMEOUT=10
and change it to
GRUB_TIMEOUT=0
SAVE the file, and close gedit.
Back in the terminal run:
sudo update-grub
when that leaves you back at an $ prompt … reboot to test.
Thanks Mark I edited the file but haven’t rebooted yet I’m having a problem getting flash to work i get sound but no picture, should I start a new thread ?
Many thanks
Graeme
Forget that last post it seems to be working ok now :-[
Do you wanna install Kingsoft Office ?
I just started a new thread on that subject sorry
