I’m new to Linux and have a predator triton 500 now I want to install Linux on an ext HDD but every time I try to install mint or similar it says I need to disable Intel rapid storage which I don’t really want to do as Linux will on be running on the ext hdd anyone got any advice

i have no experience of this but please see below that looks to confirm you may need to disable it prior to installing…
Same here … but the documentation seems to imply that changing the RST protocol in the BIOS to AHCI should do the trick … I would not expect a protocol change to cause any data loss, but it’s new tech so … at your own risk …
