Linux Engineer
As a Linux Engineer you are expected to be an expert in the design, development, implementation and ongoing support of a wide range of technical solutions and services. Solutions are built to the highest standards with a focus on availability and security and often are subject to external accreditation. Linux Engineers must have a good working knowledge of technologies such as enterprise storage, campus/WAN networks, servers and virtualisation and operating system automated deployment and patching and be experts in their field for specific technology sets. As a Linux Engineer, you should be driven and able to cope with the pressure and demands of an agile company serving a demanding customer base. They should also have good communication skills as they will be working high level customers and be required to mentor the more junior members of the team.

- Specialize in 2 Core Disciplines
Third and Fourth Line Technical Support and Fault Resolution to first and second Line Support Teams
Create Resolutions and Implementation Plans for RFC’s
Develop Technical Routines and Instructions for 1st and 2nd Line Support Teams
Provide SME Technical Consultancy
Produce High and Low Level Design Documents
Produce detailed Statements of Work for customer engagements
Act as System Design Authority, as designated by Technical Delivery
Manager in-line with Core Skills
Act as a focal point for Technical Personnel within their area of responsibility
Mentor more junior members of the team
Technical Specialisms:
TCP/IP Networking LAN and WAN including switches, routers and firewalls preferably with Cisco but will cross train
LINUX OS deploy and manage including cluster builds, IP tables experience of open source deployment and configuration and also use of automation tool.
At least 4 years experience in:

- Linux Technologies (RedHat Server, Ubuntu Server, CentOS)
Auto deployment and patching using Satellite server and Puppet
TCP/IP v4 network design with experience configuring Cisco and/or Juniper networks
Discipline to follow ITIL best practices and ISO9001, ISO20000 & ISO27001
Certifications or several substantial recent years experience:
Redhat Certified Engineer
Cisco CCNP or equivalent
