This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Linux System Engineer to join a leading technology company in Glasgow.
The challenge: The candidate will provide support on a technical level and you will be responsible for the configuration availability and performance of the datacentre network with the support of the Operations Manager and other members of the technical team.
Technical skills: Experience of configuring troubleshooting and administering Linux operating systems and servers including Redhat Ubuntu Debian etc. You should also have a working knowledge of some or all of the following:
Load balancers
IP Tables
Disk Management
OS Configuration and Performance Tuning
Scripting and Automation
Break Fix to 3rd line and beyond
Specific Linux PackagesApplications such as Cacti Nagios KVM MySQL Apache DRBD Keepalived and other HA tools Zimbra PFsense and Endian Firewalls
You should also have exposure and experience with Cisco networking including:
IP Routing
ACL Management
Routing Protocols such as BGP and OSPF
Spanning Tree
VLAN Administration
HSRPVRRP
Firewalls (ASA or equivalent other brands OK)
Cabling and Rack Housekeeping
Edge Switch Configuration and management
Public IP address administration eg RIPE
VPN connectivity
Network Security and Scalability
Assistance in Network Design for growthnew applications
