The Linux System Administrator position
Woking as a Linux System Administrator in an enterprise scale, high availability environment you will be responsible for the continued maintenance and administration of their mixed Solaris & RedHat infrastructure.
You will also be responsible for the Implementation of change requests from developers and other end users to match business requirements, ensure that technical performance is constantly improved in line with company and customer SLA’s, specify required changes in line with other areas of the technology team, and resolve technical issues as escalated from the appropriate team.
To apply for this Linux System Administrator position you will have:
Extensive experience of RedHat and Solaris System Administration
Hands on experience of working in a high availability environment
Commercial knowledge of working with web based servers (Apache, Tomcat etc.)
A firm understanding of the design process of Linux systems
Proven ability to script in Shell or Pearl
It will also be highly advantageous to have an understanding or some hands on experience of cloud based technologies (Amazon Web Services, Rackspace etc.), Linux automation (Puppet, Chef).
