I loaded windows 7 on a new hard disk and caddy to just get use to it because XP will soon not be supported. Windows 7 is really awful (I wont go into the details) but I need windows for the programmes that wont run in Linux. What I need now is a book for a Linux beginner of terminal commands or a way of building or understanding the system of commands. I run Ubuntu on an interrnal caddy. 12:05. I don’t want to pay PC World prices for books. If I know what to look for I would try other sources.
Hi Bill
Here’s a link to a free manual, http://ubuntu-manual.org/ you may need an ebook reader, if you dont have one I can reccomend Calibre, you’ll find in synaptic or the software centre
Good luck
Graeme
Thank you Graeme - my trawl of the web failed to find this very useful manual.

Hi Keith, Your welcome
Graeme
Thanks. 145 pages download, I found the same book on Amazon for Ubuntu 12:10 quite cheaply and ordered it.
