Oh! Just one screenshot
Mark, Can i install a Canon MP190 printer? Can’t figure it out how to do it
Hi HotJoint
Ok I’m doing this from memory so it might not be 100% accurate but it’s really quite self explanatory once you get going
Go to the menu select System Tools > Printers a dialogue box will open showing any installed printers, click “+ADD” another dialogue box will open up and your printer (if recognised) will be listed in the left hand pane) highlight your printer then click “Forward” another dialogue box will open up select Canon then look for your model (Pixma MP190) if you see it listed highlight it then click “Forward” another dialogue box will appear listing any available drivers if there is more than one select what’s recommended then “Forward” and it should install your printer if so it will ask if you want to print a test page, click “Print Test Page” to check it’s working. if it doesn’t work go back and select another driver if more than one is available
These instructions assume you’re installing your printer locally via USB if it’s a network printer the installation procedure is slightly different and you will have to make sure you have samba & smbclient installed
Good luck
Graeme
Cool! Thanx a lot! I will try it asap
It should be exactly the same as in Ubuntu … but if you’ve not had it installed in Ubuntu, or have any problems … let us know and we’ll see if there’s a solution
[EDIT]
Make sure you’ve run a full system update before attempting to add your printer … IIRC we had to fix a printing issue that was introduced in Lubuntu13.04 … I can’t remember whether we fixed it during the beta testing, or as a released update, so run a full system update just to be sure.
Are you still running it from a LiveUSB ? … if so, running a full system update may not be a good idea … but I can tell you how to fix printing manually if you need (and if it’s necessary)

Yeah I forgot about that and if I remember correctly the fix was released as an update
