My Toshiba Equium has lost it’s ability to track and log on to a WiFi signal. I had no problems until last week. I know it’s the laptop as my other two have no problems.
It can barely register a signal even if I am right next to a router (any router).
Any ideas?
Toshiba Equium 2gb, Ubuntu 10.10
Is this the one you bought that new wireless card for ?
Can you send the output from:
sudo lshw -C network
and
iwconfig
No Mark. The wireless antenna is recognised though when I plug it in but it only shows one bar of strength (and still won’t connect). Without the antenna (usb) it shows nothing. Bear with me as I can’t cut and paste (and send) the info as I have no internet access on the Toshiba.
I’ll have to cut and paste into a usb and send Via this Sony Vaio.
First off

Dear all. :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[
Sometimes you just have to come clean…I inadvertently knocked the WiFi switch off at some point. Sometimes the most obvious…
Yep, that will give you wireless problems for sure
