I’m afraid people are not going to be able to help if you keep refusing to answer their questions, then messing with things that only make the problem worse rather than waiting for a response.
Why didn’t you just answer the questions in your last topic:
http://linuxforums.org.uk/general-help-advice/update-all-and-download-equivlent-of-flash-player/msg52431/#msg52431
before messing around, and reposting with a bigger problem ?
As previously explained, you shouldn’t have done ANY updates, or started messing with things like computer janitor until we’d sorted out your sources.list
You are making helping you very difficult.
I've got ubuntu 10.10 or 11.04, used a live DVD after that I can't get online i looked in network connections everthing looks the same,
What do you mean by that ? … explain EXACTLY what you did since your last posting.
Sorry i did’nt see the post, the DVD i did’nt know it would change anything but obousley has i appolagize for that, I played suduku seemed fine then when onto janitor i was just looking to see what the program done i did’nt do anything just continued to look. I relize you’re tring to help me and I’ve made the problem worse sorry
Send the output from:
cat /etc/*-release
and
uname -a
-
Which DVD are we talking about ?
-
Describe the problems you have now ?
I don it in a rush and save it in the wrong format but it said it was version 10.10 :-[
So what do you want to do ?
Are you going to re-install 11.04, or do you want to try fixing 10.10 ?

after relizing that i had lost the inet i played suduko and look at janitor its still working but i havent rebooted
i want to make this as eazy and quick as poss and i don.t expect it to either!
If you didn’t do anything else, I don’t know what happened to the network connection.
Try a reboot.
If that doesn’t work, I’ll need the output from:
sudo lshw -C network
and
ifconfig
and
lsmod | grep e100
As you haven’t got an internet connection, copy the output to a text file, and copy it to the PC you are using to connect with.
You could also try what we did before… ie. delete ALL wired connections in networkmanager, then select “Auto Ethernet”.
As we did here:
http://linuxforums.org.uk/general-help-advice/no-network/msg51921/#msg51921
You were wright re-booting the system worked
