Hi I’m new to this forum, just dual booted my Laptop with Mint 17.3, everything fine except around 5 mins of use the WiFi drops out but with a notification that a cable is unplugged. I can only reconnect again by rebooting and then the cycle starts again. Any help would be very helpful please. 
Can you open a terminal and post the output from:
sudo lshw -C network
Hi Mark. I really appreciate your quick response but have resolved it by following a tutorial I found online it involved tweaking the settings of my wifi chipset by editing a config file. It now ives me an accurate indication of signal strength and has stopped dropping out. But thanks again for your intention to help. Colin
