Need help installing CAMotics (SOLVED)

Hi Mark,
I have been trying to install the CAMotics pack but have not had much success . Can you help please ??

I’m assuming you mean this CAM software:

?

I’m also assuming you’re still running Peppermint 7 64bit (as in your signature) ?..

What happens if you run these commands in sequence

mkdir ~/CAMotics

then

cd ~/CAMotics

then

wget http://camotics.org/releases/public/release/camotics/debian-stable-64bit/v1.1/camotics_1.1.1_amd64.deb

then

sudo apt-get install ./camotics_1.1.1_amd64.deb libv8-3.14.5

does it work now ?

If not, do you get any output from:

camotics

?

That seems to have solved my problem.
I will now have a look at this programme (on behalf of a friend) and see if it does what is needed.

Hi Mark,
This is an excellent little (free) programme but a little more than what I need.
I only need to see how the engraving/burning will look in simulation mode.
This programme does a simulation for complete machining i.e. on all 3 axes.
I will leave as is until my next catch up with my co-workers (old folks club) :wink:
