Which web browser you running ?
Firefox.
Right-click on this link:
http://peppermintos.info/archive/Peppermint-3-20120722-i386.iso
and select “Save Link As”
A window should open allowing you to choose where to save it
Select the USB stick in the left hand column … click Save
That saved quicker than I blinked!
Erm … it shouldn’t have … it#s probably still downloading, or did Firefox tell you the download was complete ?
In firefox, if you hit Ctrl+Shift+Y … is Peppermint still downloading ?
No my mistake- chose the data stick but this has come up!!!
Yep still downloading but worried why disk space message came up as it is being sent to stick. Maybe I should use the portable HD? Maybe not enough room on the stick?
Cancel the download
The run:
sudo df -h
and post the output
I did and got this- see attachment- think it was being sent to my system also?
I will use the HD as it has loads of space
Doing the command…
Erm, hold on … where is the Peppermint 3 ISO image now ?
udo df -h
[sudo] password for karij:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda1 6.5G 5.9G 249M 97% /
udev 490M 4.0K 490M 1% /dev
tmpfs 199M 940K 198M 1% /run
none 5.0M 0 5.0M 0% /run/lock
none 497M 276K 496M 1% /run/shm
Have you even got the USB stick inserted ?
Not sure what you mean Mark.
Ah sorry brb!
sudo df -h
[sudo] password for karij:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda1 6.5G 5.9G 250M 97% /
udev 490M 4.0K 490M 1% /dev
tmpfs 199M 952K 198M 1% /run
none 5.0M 0 5.0M 0% /run/lock
none 497M 276K 496M 1% /run/shm
/dev/sdb1 954M 312M 643M 33% /media/New Volume
Are you trying to find out data stick storage space? I think the portable HD would be better as it has loads of space.Did some of the files save onto my netbook- is that why I got the low disk space warning?
With the USB stick still plugged in …
Right-click this link:
http://peppermintos.info/archive/Peppermint-3-20120722-i386.iso
and select “Save Link As”
Now take a screenshot of what you’re looking at
Then select “Cancel” so the download DOESN’T start
now post that scre3enshot back here.
Here it is
Yeah, that’s EXACTLY where you should save it … to the “New Volume”
as long as the window looks EXACTLY like that … just click the “Save” button.
I did do that Mark, but that low disk space box came up halfway through and it looks like some went to my netbook- see attachment- could you check it hasn’t and tell me why that box came up? Do you think I should use the portable HD instead as it has much more space on it than the data stick.
Where did that window come from … that doesn’t show me where the file is, just its contents
