Run linx command in backgroud

I want to run following command in background, when it prompt for password it come to next line. Here when it give password it does not hide password and when i press enter after giving passwd, it give error. Kindly help me out.

nohup rsync -avr --progress /rmanbk/ oracle@172.16.150.2:/mnt/usb_drive/rman_backup_from_ameen/ &

What’s the error ?

Have you tried using “screen” rather than “nohup” ?
