Scanner programs

Dear All,

Anyone recommend a scanner program as the one that comes from Epson produces such large pdf files. 250kb for a simple page of text compared to simple scan 30Kb.

Simple scan dose not have all the bells and whistles.

I run Ubuntu 11.4 interested in your experience’s.

XSane

I think it’s installed by default… so just type xsane or scan into the Application Lens, it’s listed as XSane image scanning program

if it isn’t installed

sudo apt-get install xsane
