Due to continued expansion this Media giant are looking to hire a Senior Linux System Administrator on a permanent basis to join their technically focused London team.
Working in an entirely Linux based environment (RedHat and Scientific Linux)you will be managing a server farm of over 3000 spread across 5 datacenters based in the UK and internationally.
On a day to day as a Senior Linux System Administrator your role will involve:
Troubleshoot and resolve difficult production issues in a timely fashion
Install in-house, opensource, and vendor based software
Deal with ad-hoc work requests
Works with other groups and departments to achieve end goals.
Manage projects to enhance or grow the technical environment through completion
Provide tier level support to System Administrators and various internal groups[/li]
To apply for this Senior Linux System Administrator you will have:
Experience working in a web/internet focused environments (LAMP stack)
Hands on experience supporting large scale Linux based infrastructure
Ability to automate in various capacities (using Chef, Puppet Git etc.)
Experience using Nagios (or similar) for monitoring
Proven understanding of Network protocols
Programming ability in at least one language (Perl, Ruby, C, Java, Python Shell etc.)[/li]
