Don’t use Skype myself so don’t know much about it, but I do know it’s now replacing/replaced Windows messenger … so I guess it’ll work as a “aim/messenger” alike.
Installing through the terminal is no different from installing through the package manager … we can try purging and reinstalling again though if you like ?
Mark, I sent my bro a text and he skyped me. i could see him on a vid window but he couldn’t see me- he has got a plug in camera for me, that’s cool. Great re the netbook- I will just log off my laptop and switch netbook on, thanks.

Ok it’s loaded but doesn’t go to the skype box wanting credit again- weird cos the skype window box came up on the laptop and that hasn’t even got a built in webcam. Just popping out to Asda, will be back later.
EDIT- right I realised what i have to do is stay signed in and there is an icon at the top of the netbook by my date bar.
