On behalf of our client we are looking for IT specialists for software roll outs / distribution of software. The position is based in Darmstadt and start date is immediately.
Tasks:
• Maintenance and development of the as-built software build environments
• Building, packaging and distribution of software releases and patches
• Support to programmers with respect to software build and development strategies
• Support the delivery of software externally developed; its installation, configuration and testing
• Investigation into anomalies, their documentation and classification; follow up of the delivery of S/W corrections
• Participation in technical meetings and formal reviews
• Analysis of the maintenance requirements and identification, procurement or implementation of the tools to fulfil them; writing of maintenance procedures
Skills
• experience of S/W development, configuration controlled software build environments,
• experience in S/W packaging, installation and configuration for the operation and maintenance of large, real-time Monitoring & Control / Data Processing systems.
• experience in Unix and Unix-like Operating System environments and in Windows and Windows Server-based environments.
• should be familiar with networking, distributed applications, and TCP/IP services
• Essential knowledge and experience in using Unix/Linux command line tools, Software build environments and tools (e.g. autoconf/automake, make, ANT, Maven);
• Source Code control systems, preferably SVN, GIT, CVS or ClearCase
• Experience with various software packaging formats (RPM, PKG, LPP…)
• Experience in unattended, centralized software installation mechanisms (PXE/TFTP, NIM, AutoYast, kickstart etc.)
• Scripting languages (e.g. Bash/Shell, Perl, Python …)
