Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
- Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the
HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies
are installed to successfully compile HPLIP. - Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro
supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball
has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run. - Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode
will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

OK, everything looks good EXCEPT, you still have 5 printer queues for the HP printer … they still need to be removed through the CUPS interface:
http://localhost:631
Does the HP Toolbox now work if you run:
hp-toolbox
?
the hp-toolbox will work but I have to copy and paste the printer still won’t print the test page it says I’m out of paper I checked made sure it was in properly
You’ll have to start explaining things better … “I have to copy and paste the printer” … means nothing to me ??? … where/when/why ?
And you haven’t mentioned if you’ve deleted all the printer queues or not ?
You’'re not giving enough feedback from the instructions given, such as … if you’ve carried them out, any problems, any error messages, etc. … so I’m finding it hard going giving assistance … please try to be more verbose and descriptive.
the select function won’t work I have to copy and paste the command into the terminal, … and the printer still won’t work after I deleted the job list deleted the printer and re installed it, the system sees the printer though it comes up as default option, but it wont print the test page,…it says at start up there is,…“no system tray on this system,…Unable to start, exiting”
Sorry for late response I’m forgetting thing’s again
it says at start up there is,...“no system tray on this system,...Unable to start, exiting”This seems to have been solved on the Ubuntu forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=12005929
