Did it again this morning. I did the REISUB and it rebooted then working fine. I then got a error report screen shoots attached.
Let the error report go to Ubuntu … and then run a complete system update … that’s telling you X-server (graphics backend) crashed whilst reading/writing to memory, but it’s also telling you that you’re not running the latest version of X-server.
Still odd that it’s only doing it in the morning thought ??? … or is that the only time it’s started from the power button rather than a reboot ?
Run:
sudo apt-get update
then
sudo apt-get upgrade
and keep an eye out for it saying it’s going to upgrade xserver-xorg-core and xserver-common
Those updates may fix the error…
I have started from power button during the day but not often mainly in the morning. Have done the updates, will see what happens now. ;D
If you bung this:-
12.04 Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in DeliverRawEvent
into Google, you’ll find that is all over launchpad … so you’re not alone.
The good news is that according to this bug report:
The issue was caused by a patch they applied to xserver-xorg-core version 1.11.4-0ubuntu10.2 … the fix was released 2 days ago (1.11.4-0ubuntu10.3), and should be what you just updated
How was it this morning ?
Fine, started properly first time.
THANK YOU all again. I have marked as solved because I have done several cold starts in the morning during the day and it has been fine every time.
Thanks
Mark
