Job Description

As the Unix/Linux Administrator, you will provide technical support and systems administration for a small office in Belfast, Northern Ireland. You will be responsible for building and administering Linux/Unix servers for development and supporting production web servers, tuning for performance and administering MySQL databases. You will also provide network support for the LAN/WAN, Linux desktops, Mac and Windows. You will work as part of global IT team and as a result, there may be some travel required on occasion.

The Successful Applicant

Very strong Linux/UNIX experience including experience of at least one deb and rpm based distribution (BSD/IOS experience a bonus).
Strong experience supporting highly available web environments (LAMP/LEMP) as well as an awareness of emerging technologies Scripting - at least one of (BASH/Perl/Python/Ruby).
Virtualization experience (ideally ESXi/vCenter and VirtualBox)
Low level protocol knowledge i.e. TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP, SMTP, HTTP
Some Linux logging (syslog-ng/rsyslog/Logstash/Greylog2) and Monitoring experience (Nagios/Cacti/PRTG/OMD/Pingdom)
Experience with Windows Active Directory Networking including logon account management, group/user policies, logon scripts, network printers, etc.
Familiarity with OSX
Experience supporting Dell and Mac hardware
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What’s on Offer

£28,000 - £38,000 depending on experience Benefits include 7.5% bonus, 5% employer pension contribution, 25 days holiday, life assurance, permanent health insurance and share options.
