Updating Zorin OS

Hi All - I’m attempting to configure Update Manager in Zorin but have hit a couple of snags.

1 Update Manager informs there are updates available but doesn’t list them (upper section is blank)

2 When using Terminal commands ‘sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade’ it stalls at this -

E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?

As far as I can see, no other processes are running… (I think this error usually generates if Synaptic is open, but I could be wrong?) ::slight_smile:

Any clues?

OOPS!!! Please ignore point #2… Synaptic was running…!! Senior moment :-[ :-[

Double OOPS!! Update has cured issue #1 too… :-[ :-[ :-[ I really shouldn’t get up so early…
