WEBEX audio problems LINUX 64bit systems. (Closed)

Yes that worked OK, then it came time to find out if Webex worked in the VM and unfortunately it did not work.

It would seem that the processing power even with the settings set to the maximum allowed could not Handel this web based software.

Dose the performance of the VM depend on the host computers abilities? It is 8 years old and has a 64 bit Dule core intel CPU was a Vista machine.

Looks like I will have to do a duel boot system with peppermint.

Thanks for all your help I learned a lot about VMs most interesting.

Tried to install peppermint 6 32bit alongside my mint 17.2 64 bt but peppermint says No detected operating system is there anyway to install the 32 bit system alongside the 64 bit system?

Now this is strange - I tried installing peppermint 6 on my desktop system. It has the same mint 17.2 64bit installed and peppermint saw it and offered to install alongside existing system.

So there must be an issue with the laptop, dose it have anything to do with removing the VM from the laptop?
I have used option 2 from the grub menu and repaired any faults with the existing installation and updated the grub menu.

Still peppermint says there is no existing operating system.

Is the laptop UEFI ?

No it is a Linux mint 17.2 64bit system this is the only operating system on the laptop.

That’s not what I meant … I meant does the laptop have a Legacy BIOS or a UEFI BIOS ?

In Mint on the laptop, can you post the output from:

[ -d /sys/firmware/efi ] && echo UEFI || echo BIOS

usertwo@usertwo-R59P-R60P-R61P ~ $ [ -d /sys/firmware/efi ] && echo UEFI || echo BIOS
BIOS
usertwo@usertwo-R59P-R60P-R61P ~ $

I have noticed that the partitions are controlled by LVM2 could this be causing a problem?

most likely, specially if they’re encrypted.

Is ther an easy option or should I just Install a new 32 bit operating system?

Can’t think of an easy option (besides possibly using google hangouts instead)

So if you KNOW it works in 32bit Linux, and you NEED the program…

Ok I think I will opt for installing a 32 bit option.

Okey dokey … good luck :slight_smile:
