I am hosting a number of websites (11 plus a few more in the pipe line), so nothing too major.
I am looking to have my own sever to host the sites which will give me a better performance and of course save me some money. I was thinking of using Linux as the software, but I just have a few questions:
? How do I know what bandwidth I get and how will I be able to control which website get what?
? Will Linux support SSD VPS?
? Software wise will it support Plesk, c-panel & Apache?
Plus if anyone can give me any recommendations for the hardware side too.

See the response here:
there are a number of bandwidth limiting modules for apache

Yup.

Apache, of course it will
Plesk and Cpanel … it depends on the VPS provider and the distro used … Linux dos support them, but as an example VPS.net only offer Cpanel on CentOS 6 VPS’s
That said, what’s wrong with Webmin/Virtualmin ? … we use that combo on the Peppermint VPS (currently running Ubuntu 14.04)
