Zorin OS, anyone tried it?

Came across this by accident (it was a face palm moment)

Zorin OS

Looks quite good, especially for Windross users to make the transition.
Hell, I’d bet if you put a Windoze user in front of it they wouldn’t even know they were using Linux
Downloading it ATM and will try it tomorrow (Godawful slow connection(2.5 hours to download 1.3 gig)).

I suppose it has its place … personally I don’t want Linux to look like Windows … but that’s just me, and at least it’s only an “option” in Zorin

I haven’t tried it myself, but it seems to have a growing fan base, so it must be doing something right

I’d be interested to hear your impressions once you’ve tried it … glitch wrote a good review of Zorin at the forums parent site not so long ago:

I’m with Mark on this one, I don’t want Linux to mimic Windows but…I do like a clean tidy interface so I will give a whirl. Is there a non install usb version?

According to this:
http://www.technobol.com/install-zorin-linux-using-bootable-pendrive/

the Universal USB Installer from Pendrivelinux should work:

for creating a LiveUSB

Thanks.

I tried it on an older version, and didn’t like it very much, but newer versions may be better

Running it on a USB. Seems pretty nippy. Can’t see any similarity to Windows though.

here’s a review of zorin hope it helps
