I got that reference. I lol’d.
I didn’t … unless you mean a wearable computer ?
If you build a computer into your sleeve … would that make it a truly “ARM based” PC ?
That’s exactly what he ment, lol. (Your going to kick yourself now.)
Well done!
Neal Stephenson’s Snow Crash.
I imagine it would. So could you run the finger
command by poking someone in the head?
Let us know how you got on with it (once you got it in your hand).
I was considering it for a low wattage home server build. That is if you can replace Android with a more suitable Linux distro.
Also not sure of the IO on the board, internal USB would be nice.
It doesn’t say anything on the APC website about how the OS is run. The RasPi runs the OS off a microSD card which shouldn’t be a problem formatting and installing your own distro. Maybe the APC is the same.

That would be a little harder to put Linux on. At least it’s only $49 so it won’t break the bank when you have to buy another one!! ;D
@ glitch … so I was right ?

@ SeZo … will do, and so would Gb ethernet (a mini Beowulf cluster springs to mind as a possibility, if Linux can be shoehorned on) … but you can’t have everything … yet

and
etc.
Yes that is what I’m after!
One of my mates builds remote control aircraft, not the crappy little things from ToysRUs, I’m talking UAVDrone type things! They have webcams and video recorders and all sorts. He has a pair of goggles which allow him to see the feed from the webcam so he can fly first person. I was going to use something similar, like in Snow Crash, so I can walk down the street while hacking the Pentagon… I mean Bookfacing.
Obviously a major drawback is getting hit by a car because I can’t see where I’m going. But you know what they say… “if at first you don’t succed, you’re a failure.”
I think it would take off though… the less I have to deal with people face to face the better.
the less I have to deal with people face to face the better.
Ahh … another proper geek … nice to know I’m not alone (even when I want to be)
Yup the world would be a much nicer place if it wasn’t for all the people.
I guess that could be applied to facebook too
Haha I can just imagine Zuckerburg sitting in his study commenting that he is eating a bagel and being the ONLY person on facebook!! Actually isn’t that how it started?
Zuckerburg just ate a yummy bagel! Zuckerburg likes this
Zuckerburg likes this
Pointless … Zuckerburg doesn’t have any “friends”.
Facebook is being sued if you haven’t already heard. For 17 BILLION. I hope Zuckerburg has fun fighting the patents hoarders.
the less I have to deal with people face to face the better.
I feel your pain. I hate dealing with people face to face. I’m not social at all. I prefer to be in the comfort of my home, doing things from my PC. I’m a lazy git.
I’d so buy those glasses if something like that was actually made.
Why is Facebook being sued? I would search for the news myself but I’m worried my computer won’t talk to me anymore…
From what I gather, it’s 2 class action lawsuits.
- a $15 billion lawsuit:-
the social network has been hit with a lawsuit to the tune of $15 billion. Levied by law firm Stewarts Law US, the complaint combines 21 individual lawsuits dating back to 2011 into one amended class-action suit where it claims Facebook violated user privacy by purportedly tracking web usage. The lawsuit was filed in a Federal Court in San Jose, California and cites violation of the US Wiretap Act, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and the Stored Communications Act, among others. The US Wiretap Act allocates damages for each user up to $100 per day per violation, or up to $10,000. Specifically, the suit claims that Facebook is tracking users even after they log out of the social network.
- a $2.5 billion lawsuit which “includes” Facebook:-
And yesterday, Facebook and its IPO underwriters found out they are being sued by investors who claimed they were misled in the purchase of the social network firm’s stock, especially when it came to valuation of the company and revenue predictions. The investors have said the members of a proposed class action lawsuit have lost more than $2.5 billion since the Facebook IPO last week, according to a complaint filed today in Manhattan federal court.
;D Haha epic fail!

Heh … that actually looks like “Facebook” being taken into court
